DAY 1 - Welcome to the Jungle

DAY 1.  Back to School

I tried to come out with the big guns, but nothing too much (I didn't want to scare students)  I went with a pleated leopard skirt and a vintage-esque blouse with the bow.  I am obsessed with bows.  Actual bows, bow print, a bow in my hair, bows on shoes.  There is something very feminine about a blouse with a bow.

I also tried the BELT.  I don't usually ever wear a belt.  There are weird to me, but at the last minute I decided to go with the waist belt.  It is really odd because, my elastic waist skirt has no loops and it is constantly ending up where it shouldn't be.  Definitely a fail in my world.

Shoes - Nine West (oh yeah with bows)

 Overall Grade:  A
Trendy but not too offensive.  I also haven't taken much harassment from my colleagues which can be a major factor in self assessment.

Some classroom etiquette

I am getting so nervous for this endeavor.  I am not sure that I can do this everyday.  For those of you who know me, I am a little scatterbrained and have brilliant ideas that never come to fruition.  It can be referred to as “Barr talk” because it usually occurs at the bar and I am usually making some wild statement that could potentially come true, but usually just is nonsense.

I have been thinking about how I want this blog to go.   I am baffled as to where it will take me or some theme that I would like to follow.  But just like my personality,  I am going to just fly be the seat of my jeggings. (YES!)

Here are a few guidelines that I have come up with:

1.     To go with the teacher thing, I am definitely going to grade myself each day.  For each outfit, I will give myself a letter grade from A to F (believe me there will be some Fs)
2.     Fridays at school are dress down days.  Usually on these days, I look like a student and get charged student lunch prices.  SCORE!  So on Fridays, I think that I am going to just choose a trend or item of clothing, etc and just go on a rant.  I might like it or hate it, but you will have to find out.   I am sure that this could be pretty funny, because my opinions are pretty funny, sometimes.
3.     Inservice, Snow, and sick days will not be part of the count.

Lucky for you, I have chosen the first 2 weeks of school outfits.  And from the patterns and combinations, I hope not to disappoint.  So be ready for fashion amazingness.

How to Accessorize in a Photo Booth

I recently attended a wedding of a friend.  I was so excited to see a Photo Booth.  So my friends and I trumped the Booth for about an hour and as I looked at the table of props, my mind started... So here goes.

How to Accessorize in a Photo Booth:
1.  Choose any item that makes you happy.  In this case, I chose a faux leather Indiana Jones type hat and a plastic machine gun.  Although different masculine genres, both really accentuated the femininity of my dress (as well as the inner badass).
2.  Always at first, try to look like your accessories really compliment your outfit (Hence picture 1, my best attempt at Supermodel in which I feel that my cheek bones are amazing)
3.  When in doubt that you made a questionable decision, Start making weird faces like you have no idea what is going on.

When all else fails, grab another accessory and just go for overload. :)

Teachers can be en vogue, too. Seasonal sweaters: NOT ALLOWED!

This is me.  I am a 10th grade teacher who loves her job, but also loves wacky, fun fashion.  I have never understood the concept of matching, who made those rules anyway?  Patterns are made to be worn together and separate.  Why can men only wear ties?

I am a bargain shopper and pride myself in wearing sweet clothes at an affordable price.  I like shopping and, yes, I SHOP.   That doesn't mean that you always have to buy, I shop to find the best deal.  It is a waiting game.  Patience, my friends.

I have an extensive shoe collection in which I am very proud of.  (It might not always be represented, sometimes you just have to go with the comfy school shoes, leather mary janes. of course)

On August 31, the 2011-2012 school year begins.  I have decided to chronicle my trendy (or not so trendy) outfits.  180 days of fashion.  I have no intention to be a traditional fashionista, I only claim that I like what I like and wear what I please.

So get to Miss B's class on time and come get schooled.
